Power Price shows the live hourly electricity price for ComEd Hourly Pricing customers in northern Illinois, in the app and in widgets on your Home Screen and Lock Screen.

What price is shown? The big number is ComEd's average price for the current hour, in cents per kWh. That's the price hourly-pricing customers pay for electricity supply during that hour. The app also shows the latest 5-minute price, which ComEd publishes every five minutes.
What do the colors mean? Green is under 5¢, orange is 5–10¢ and red is 10¢ or more. Blue means the price is below zero, which happens occasionally when there is more power on the grid than needed.
What does the arrow mean? It compares this hour's price with last hour's: up, down, or sideways if the change is less than 0.5¢.
Is this my full electricity cost? No. These are ComEd's hourly supply prices only. Your bill also includes delivery, capacity and other charges and taxes, so your total cost per kWh is higher.
Why doesn't the widget update every 5 minutes? iOS decides how often widgets refresh to save battery, usually every 15–30 minutes. Opening the app refreshes the price and the widgets right away.
What does the crossed-out Wi-Fi icon mean? The widget couldn't reach ComEd, so it's showing the last prices it received, with the time they're from. It will update again once you're back online.
Do I need to be on ComEd Hourly Pricing? Anyone can view the prices, but they only apply to your bill if you're enrolled in ComEd's Hourly Pricing program.
Is Power Price made by ComEd? No. Power Price is an independent app by Log With Me LLC. It shows publicly available price data from ComEd and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ComEd or Commonwealth Edison Company.
